I'm Jade Tetlow, and I founded 'Freedom From Thought' to support those seeking positive transformation. Many of us suffer as a result of believing that the thoughts that enter our mind define who we are, whether they be associated with negative self-perceptions, uncontrollable aspects of life, or the often imagined opinions of others. Most of our thoughts are not chosen consciously by us, but are created from the memory of past experiences. Through correct practice, we can begin to see the thoughts that belong to the past, and recognise who we truly are. This practice has been life-changing for me.
Positive change can take many forms, whether it’s finding a new job, relocating, or discovering a new hobby and it can also arise from a shift in mindset, empowering us to move from feeling like victims of our circumstances to adopting a mindset of resilience and empowerment.

The Vision

There is a belief in today's world that "if I have or achieve that, then I'll be happy". Well I have tried, tested, experimented and exhausted this belief, and in my experience, those things that I thought would bring me happiness and contentment were great, but short lived.  â€‹â€‹

I spent most of my twenties travelling the world and living in other countries, learning what I could from other cultures. In 2018 I spent one year training and supporting psychedelic indigenous medicine retreats. It was during this time that I realised many things about myself and the world. I realised that no matter what I did in my external life, I would often return to a feeling of dissatisfaction.

Through medicine and meditation practices, I began to learn how my mind and inner world worked, and how so much of my suffering was caused by the thoughts constantly whirring around my mind. I remember sitting in meditation one evening and I had this profound moment where I realised that all the thoughts in my head were just happening, I was separate to them, and it was possible to treat them as though they were external to me. I felt myself go from feeling overwhelmed to peaceful almost instantly. I told someone about this and they introduced me to the teachings of Mooji.

I continued to nurture what I had found, and this lead me to a space within myself where I felt acceptance and peace and immense gratitude. Through practice, this became more and more accessible to me. I became so passionate about what I had found, that the teachings became my life and were no longer an activity or a hobby.

These teachings have matured since then, and from this space, Freedom from Thought has been created.
